About
Hello, and welcome!
I’m Haley. Mamma to a growing girl and partner (he hates that term) to one kick-ass superguy named Kevin. We live in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia. Design is our Nature is yet another eco blog and a place for me to channel my passions for sustainability, writing, and design.
I’m a Web Designer by profession and an environmentalist at heart. I have a strong desire to live more simply and tred lighter on our planet. I want to set a positive example for my daughter. I started this blog to help me stay on course, reflect on my progress and maybe inspire others. Hears to the journey!

Hi!
I ran into your site while looking for a frugal/green home renovations designer/architect. We live in a little post WWII bungalow now bursting at the seams with 2 growing kids and about 960 square feet of space (there’s a low basement with another 600 square feet). We’ve looked at moving but like our place and to be frank, in Vancouver, the costs as you know are a bit crazy.
Do you know of a home designer with a frugal bent who could help us expand our space without breaking the bank?
Like your blog!
M
